Amyanne Checca
Owner, Director, and Curriculum Coordinator
Amyanne has her BA in Human Development with a concentration in children and families. She has a passion for teaching children kindness and inclusiveness. A Massachusetts transplant; she enjoys the warm weather, lake life, and being part of an Irish Dance community! She is the mom to Olivia and Amelia and a wife to Mr. Keith. She is excited that her dream is growing and that you are a part of it!
Jo Schaffhauser
Pre-K / TK Teacher & Assistant Administrator
Jo has her degree from SUNY Stonybrook in NY. She is a NY transplant who has been in the Lake Norman area since 2007. Jo is a mom to 3 kids, 2 cats, and a dog. Jo and Amy worked together pre Covid and had so much fun they are at it again. Jo works with our oldest group by doing amazing hands on experiences while also leading them on a pre-kindergarten concepts adventure.
Whitney Bedolli
Curriculum Coordinator
Whitney worked with Miss Amy at not one school previously but two. Whitney is married to Mr. Garrett and is an amazing mom to her step-daughter and newest baby Avery! With a degree in education and a passion for Early Childhood Whitney brings a calming effect to the classroom. Along with Amyanne she has a passion for teaching children about cultures around the world. She enjoys the gym, spending time with her family, and baking.
Kristy Hood
Infant/Toddler Teacher
Kristy comes to us with early childhood experience and a passion for learning. She is full of energy and you will often find her singing and dancing with the kiddos. She is a wife and mother and moved here from Pennsylvania. She enjoys the beach in her free time! We are so proud of Kristy as she continues her education. If we had to pick the most energetic and happy person in the world it would be Kristy.
Elizabeth Love
Infant/Toddler Teacher
Elizabeth joins us with almost a decade of childcare experience. She is a wife and mom to 1 son and 2 dogs. She enjoys reading and watching her family (both son and husband) play lacrosse. Elizabeth brings a calming effect to our babes all the while letting them express themselves and grow. We love having her as part of our LPP family.
April Ross
Preschool Teacher
April joins us; along with her daughter Phoenix and her son Deklyn in the preschool classroom. She comes with experience in childcare and still substitutes at a Stay and Play at a local gym. She has a passion for helping children learn and grow as individuals. She enjoys spending time with her family and trying new activities. We are excited to have April's enthusiasm as part of our team.
Amelia Checca (TCRG)
School Substitute
Amelia was the original assistant along with Miss Amy when we opened in Sept 2020. She graduated from High School in 2022 and is following her dream of becoming an Irish Dance Teacher. That means lots of studying and mentoring under a current dance teacher. She will be subbing for us throughout the year.
Caitlyn Morrison
School Substitute
Caitlyn started her LPP journey as a parent. She has since had two graduates, one in 2023 and in 2025. She is thrilled to join as a sub and be a part of every parents journey. Caitlyn spends her days with her husband, three kiddos, and two dogs and in her off time can be found reading or playing mahjong with friends!
Amanda Ortmayer
School Substitute
Amanda started with Little Passports as a mom! As her babies grew so did our amazing relationship. Amanda has joined us as sub. She is a wife and momma to two humans, one puppy, two cats, and three chickens OH MY! Amanda enjoys everything family ,taekwondo, and reading!
Olivia Moore
Social Media Manager
Olivia joined LPP in 2021 as our OG Infant/Toddler Room teacher and opened our Parent's Night Out program. Olivia now lives in England with her husband, but stays in touch via Instagram and our website as The LPP Social Media Specialist.
We are always hiring for substitute teachers. These offer the possibility of growing into permanent positions. Must love children of all ages, be reliable, and be a team player!
We also accept parent volunteers. We love when parents come in and play with us. If you think there is something you can add to our program please do not hesitate to reach out.
